In the 1950s, author Truman Capote was the life of every party and well on his way to becoming a legend. One day, flipping through the New York times, the horrific murder of Kansas family the Clutters, who had been, killed by shotgun ,blasts at close range, grabbed` his attention. The killers were still at large and Capote was interested in the murders affected the small-town folk. In writing the first non-fiction novel, the author crossed several invisible lines - the relationship between the people he was researching and" his own emotional investment, betraying promises, manipulation through charm - the list goes on. Capote is aided by Bennett Miller`s spare direction in his debut film, ,a startling effort for a first-timer, and of course, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who owns the movie.
